The Stable Bed & Breakfast is a wonderfully unique and historic carriage house, originally built in 1887, and then converted from its equine past to a private home earlier this century.
The Stable is situated in the heart of the heritage conservation Old Town district of Niagara-on-the-Lake, Canada's prettiest town and home of the world-class Shaw Festival.
You will find it is a short and very pleasant walk from The Stable to the Shaw Festival's theatres, historic pubs, art galleries and museums. It is also just a nine-iron to the Niagara Golf Club, the oldest golf course in North America. Park free at The Stable and stroll to the theatre and everything else in town.
An elegant candlelit breakfast, featured in a book by Nancy and Richard Woodworth, "Getaways for Gourmets," included a piping-hot entree, home-made bread and muffins with preserves, tropical fruit cocktail, fine juices, Colombian coffee, herbal teas and more. Breakfast is served each morning on an antique dining room table, overlooking
the pool fountains and garden.
Guest rooms at the Stable are tastefully appointed and individually decorated after different countries the hostess has travelled. All rooms have their own private bathroom, colour television and air-conditioning. The guest rooms include the Australia room, which has a king bed and a great view of the rear garden and pool. The British room and the European room both have queen beds and overlook the orchard of one of Niagara-on-the-Lake's extraordinary estate properties. |
| Guests of The Stable have full use of a spacious parlor and dining room with a cozy wood-burning fireplace, and a personal library. A guest hospitality room is also set up with a refrigerator, a microwave oven, an iron and ironing board, and a tea kettle with complimentary hot beverages, anytime, day or night. Outside amenities include a sparkling heated swimming pool in a very private garden patio setting and a pleasant covered verandah with white wicker furniture. |

Guest Rates
The Australia room, which has a king-size bed and an ensuite attached bathroom, is $129.
The British room has a queen-size bed and an ensuite attached bathroom and is also $129.
The European room, also with a queen-size bed, has its own private bathroom just a few steps
down the hall is $124.
All rates are in Canadian dollars, per room, per night, double occupancy, and are subject to
a rather ubiquitous seven per cent goods & services tax, (refundable for non-Canadians).
Visa, MasterCard, and American Express cards are accepted.
There is no minimum stay, ever, and special winter rates are available, too -- just ask. |
