Rocky Mountain Escape offers secluded, private log cabin accommodation and a variety of year-round, nature-oriented activities. The 'Escape cabins are located in a forrested, subalpine valley adjacent to Jasper National Park (east backcountry boundary), and vast, undeveloped Willmore Wilderness. We cater to folks looking for a quiet, scenic, non-touristy spot from which to enjoy our mountain environment.
The 'Escape currently has three guest cabins, each hand-crafted log, 480 sq ft with an open design (only the bathroom is enclosed), and visually isolated in order to enhance guest privacy. Each cabin is equipped with a queen-sized bed, sofa (1 cabin) or double fold-down futon (2 cabins), rocker chair, a full bath (tub/shower with hot and cold running water and indoor plumbing!), a wood burning stove and double propane burner for complimentary coffee/tea/hot chocolate. We provide all bedding and linen, and kindling and firewood is stacked on your deck for use in the stove.
Hearty and wholesome meals are prepared "cowboy-style" on a wood cook stove or, weather permitting, over an open campfire. "Bush baking" adds a finishing touch to meals which are served family-style in a central cookhouse. Special dietary needs are readily accommodated.
Summer activities include guided, intrepretive hiking, horseback riding, canoeing, fishing and whitewater rafting. Winter activities encompass cross-country skiing, snowshoeing and sledding. Wildlife viewing opportunities are abundant; subalpine and alpine wildflowers are a special treat between mid-May and mid-August; migratory songbirds return in the spring and are vocal and colorful between mid-May and mid-June. |
Rocky Mountain Escape cabins are "off-the-beaten-path", and located in the newly-created Rock Lake/Solomon Creek Wildlands Park. The 'Escape is relatively remote, although guests can still drive to the cabins in a regular vehicle most of the year (winter access requires a 4-wheel drive or 'Escape transportation). In addition to the scenic beauty of the front ranges of the Rocky Mountains, we're also home to diverse species of wildlife that are truly wild.
Activities, such as hiking and horseback riding in the summer and cross-country skiing and snowshoeing in the winter, can be enjoyed as day trips and as multi-day adventures into the wilderness. Also available are single-day canoe, fishing and whitewater rafting trips during the summer. |
| To confirm a booking, a 50% deposit or a credit card (Visa or MasterCard) number is required. There are no charges placed against the credit card, unless there is a cancellation as above, until guests arrive at Rocky Mountain Escape. |

| If guests must cancel prior to 30 days before arrival, any deposit received by Rocky Mountain Escape will be fully refundable, less a $50 administration fee (charged to your credit card, if reservation confirmed with a credit card number). If guests must cancel within 30 days of arrival, the 'Escape reserves the right to keep the full deposit (charged to your credit card, if reservation confirmed with a credit card number). |

Pets: Pets are not allowed at the cabins during peak season due to potential liability with other guests. Pets may be considered during our off-season.
Smoking: Smoking is not allowed in the cabins, although guests are welcome to smoke on the deck of the cabin. |
| Peak season (June 1 to October 1) rates are $125 (Cdn funds) per adult per night, and include your private cabin accommodation, all meals, guided day hikes and transportation to and from trailheads. Off-season (October 1 to June 1) rates are $125 (Cdn funds) per cabin per night, with meals at $35/adult/day. Rates for children 6 to 16 years of age are $50/night during peak season, and $25/night during the off season. |
