Do you want a real Jamaica villa vacation? Our villa rental is privately nestled on a tropical hillside between Ocho Rios & Port Maria, Jamaica. This spacious Jamaican villa boasts a breathtaking panoramic view of the Caribbean Sea and Blue Mountains. You are minutes away from some of Jamaica's finest beaches, attractions and exciting nightlife of Ocho Rios. Dunn's River Falls, Rio Grande Rafting, Blue Mountain Biking, Blue Lagoon, Black Sand Beach, Boston Bay, Port Antonio, & swimming with the dolphins at Dolphin Cove are just some of our guests favorite places to see and experience. Among celebrities who have made a home nearby are Ian Fleming of the "James Bond" novels. Playwright Noel Coward wrote "A Room With a View" from his home, Firefly, which is just a stones throw away. As you look out to the endless wonder of the Caribbean Sea, you are awed by this exotic and soothing paradise. You can easily spend an entire week at On Top of the World enjoying the secluded simplicity of Port Maria without being hustled or hassled in any way. After these fun-filled days of adventure our guests appreciate the peace and quiet of this casual Jamaican villa atmosphere.
VILLA / VAN PACKAGE DEAL
One service we are now pleased to offer this year is the rental of our Toyota van which includes your own personal driver/tour guide! We offer a package deal which includes the villa, van, and driver for $1550. per week.
Cutty serves as your driver/tour guide. He personally picks up our guests as well as returns them to the airport. Cutty knows the island well and will take guests anywhere they want to go during their stay, and will recommend area attractions if desired. Guests pay for fuel.
A comparable van from a rental agency in Jamaica is typically $650. minimum per week. Along with this a person must purchase insurance which runs an avg. $15. per day. (U.S. insurance won't cover any car rental in Jamaica.) Then to top it off the renter must sign a credit card slip for $1000. in case of damages to the vehicle. Thus the renter is buying insurance with a $1000. deductible!
On Top of The World is offering a weeks van rental for $700. with no extra insurance expense. If the van should receive any damages it is our problem. PLUS, our guests get their own personal driver/tour guide (which is worth $50+ per day) FREE! Leaving the driving to Wint is a great way to see Jamaica. Simply sit back..."no problems, mon"!

Villa Life
Many travelers have heard about VILLAS, but often times don't pursue this option simply because they're unaware of what a VILLA has to offer. Here's what you've been missing.
PERSONAL ATTENTION
The staff are truly the highlight of the Jamaican villa experience. Often times these folks have worked for their employers for many, many years and know the area and its people very well. Typically one of the staff lives on the premises and take pride in maintaining their homes. Their presence allows them to be available to assist you night or day. You may have questions about local attractions or how to use the local transportation. Staff have many times lived their whole life nearby and are glad to share with you about the history of the area. You may want help buying groceries and changing money. Staff will gladly serve you in a variety of capacities. You need not be concerned that they will be intrusive. Your privacy is respected. Villa staff will be present only as much as you request. Many guests find that they enjoy getting to know the staff.
Jamaicans are very proud of their culture and enjoy the opportunity to share their lives with guests.

Dunn's River Falls
A must see and do attraction in Jamaica is climbing Dunn's River Falls. Beginning at the sea you climb 600' of stair-stepping limestone surrounded by tall rainforest. If you're not quite so brave at heart there's wooden stairs along the way to view the awesome cascades and pools. You can spend the entire day here for only $8 US
Rio Grande Rafting
This is a leisurely three-hour ride down the river on a 36' long bamboo raft. You sit on a raised seat for two as an experienced guide poles your trip. It is wonderfully scenic and you'll get a taste of rural life along the riverbanks.

What a super spot for birdwatchers like us! We woke each morning to the sound of "Auntie Katie" the oriole, and listed 17 birds just from the patio, many of them lifers. On Top of the World is truly a spot with a million dollar view of the ocean. More than that, it offers views into the Jamaican countryside few visitors get to experience. One of our favorite times was buying food at the local market to bring home to AnnMarie who whipped it into the best meals we had during our travels. Just a wonderful time! We're still smiling, mon.

We Visited 'On Top Of The World ' In September 2001,On our arrival we were lost for words it was beyond all of our expectations that we had managed to book a Villa over the Internet of such class. The location and facility was great, the staff was very courteous and helpful, the food was delicious. The use of a vehicle at our disposal was a tremendous benefit to have. It was my fourth visit to Jamaica and the best yet, which was due, without a shadow of a doubt to our time spent at 'On Top Of The World'.

I visited On Top of the World with a group of 8 for New Year's 2001. It is simply an amazing place! Port Maria is small and hilly - no annoying tourists swarming all over the place! Everything you may want to do is nearby and Cutty can get you there. The villa offers a wonderful retreat from whatever you need a break from. Ann-Marie is an excellent cook and very patient too (we were not the most adept at shopping for fresh fish at market...she helped us through). I can't go without letting you know that the view from the villa veranda is just ridiculously breathtaking. Cutty is a great host with two super friendly dogs. Suffice it to say, we've already booked our trip for New Year's 2002.

"On Top Of The World" describes just how you feel when you stay there-- no kidding! And the view is unbelievable!! I've been to Jamaica four times in the past three years, and On Top of The World & the Port Maria area are my favorite places on the island. Cutty and Ann Marie make all the difference. I won't ever forget the food, fabulous music, relaxing atmosphere, and of course, the people-- they're terrific! That's what keeps me coming back. I feel like I have made some life-long friends. I've traveled quite a bit and have found this place to be a "great escape", yet accessible to lots of fun and tourist attractions when I'm in the mood. If you're sick of the usual tourist traps and want to experience a bit of the real Jamaican culture I'd highly recommend this place.
