Long Description: Top
This very private home sits nestled on a hillside surrounded by partially shaded decks and beautiul succulent gardens. It's many windows and glass doors offer fabulous cross ventillation and spectacular outlooks of the mouth of the harbor and Caribbean Sea.

On a clear day, you can see, the highter mountains of St. Croix. From your hammock you can view Viequez in the distance and Fullodoza Bay below. At night the lights of St.Thomas can be seen peeking throught the hills of Culebra to the east.

Most sunrises are worth getting up for and moon rises are worth staying awake for.

Orion and the Milky Way are prominent all winter and a starazer will not be disappointed on moonless nights.

Brisas is Approximately three miles from Playa Flamenco, considered one of the most beautiful beaches in the U.S. You will be surprised by the lack of crowds. The nearest beach to Brisas, is Punta Soldado (Soldiers Point). This coral covered beach is a short swim from one of the several small reefs that dot Culebra's shoreline. Many of these reefs are home to a wide variety of colorful fish. These are only two of the many beautiful beaches to be found while touring and exploring Culebra.

One of the few restaurants/watering holes found outside of town is within a half mile of Brisas del Mar and can be reached by car or boat.

On the days that you just want to kick back and read a book, you will find peace and quiet rocking in your hammock or stretched out on the deck. Your mesmerizing view will only be interruped by the occasional visit of one of the many birds that wing by. You will almost certainly witness hummingbirds gathering nectar from the brightly colored flowers. You will probably be luck enough to see a flock of Ani, parrot like birds, that are black and have a soft crow-like call. Over the water or high above the surrounding hills you will see Osprey, Frigate and Pelians.

While Brisas del Mar offers some snorkel gear (depending on size), the dive shops in town offer all you need to snorkel, dive or knee board.

Fly fisheman will enjoy the flats behind the reefs and can hire a guide to experience the "secret" spots for bone fish.

Boats, kayaks and bicycles can be rented in town, or by making a simple phone call.

The several gift shops provide a wide range of goods. Most carry sun lotion, hats and sunglasses, along with interesting souvenirs, loal art and clothing. Most shops can be found in Dewey, Culebra's "business district". There, you will also find grocery stores, internet access, the post office, several watering holes, eating establishments and a variety of houses of worship. There is one bank and it has an ATM machine.

There is a medical clinic in Dewey.

Hiking and birdwatching are two other popular ways to spend time on Culebra. Remember to bring plenty of drinking water, once you are out of town, there are few places to find any.

Tours and water taxis can be arranged to take you to the outer islands, or hire a skipper to sail you there.

Nightlife is generally quiet on Culebra, though you might be lucky to find some local entertainment or a roving band brought in on a boat just passing through. On still nights the dive shops will arrange night dives and water taxis will sometimes take you on a tour of the bay.

The ferry pulls in, approximately one file from the house and the airport is about two.

There are several car rental business. For access to our property you will need a four wheel drive or a Volkswagen "Thing". There are losts of four wheel drives available and a few "Things". A reservaton in advance is very advisable. Most rental companies will meet you at the ferry or airport.

Culebra is blessed with many beautiful beaches. We have mentioned only a few, and no establishments by name, simple because we feel part of the Culebra experience is exploring.

You will find the people of Culebra are friendly and willing to help you enjoy your island experience.
