Maluhia Hanalei is a lovely home located just a block from the beautiful 2-mile white sand crescent beach at magnificent Hanalei Bay and a 5 minute walk into quaint, historic downtown Hanalei.
Situated on a 1/4 acre surrounded by lush tropical landscaping and adjacent to a conservation area with lovely views of the surrounding Hawaiian scenery, the house is at the end of a one-block-long cul de sac that runs off the beach road and is set back down a long driveway. Thus, it is very private, quiet and secluded and yet just a block to the beach and a short stroll into town. Ideal setting and great location.
This home sleeps from one to fourteen people in 6 bedrooms with 4 baths. It is a single family home that is divided into 3 separate units. We do not rent to 3 separate groups at the same time. Other than high season ( summer, and Christmas/New Years weeks when only the whole house may be rented) you only need to rent as much of the house as you need. This arrangement is perfect for larger groups, for while the upstairs 3BR 2BA main part of the house has a very open floor plan and can accommodate everyone for meals and visiting, the smaller groups within the larger one can all have some privacy. It also give you extra kitchen space, living rooms, TV's, washer/dryers, etc. Spacious wrap-around lanais, decks and patios allow for wonderful outdoor relaxation. An extensive video library and 3 TVs and VCRs, plus books, games and puzzles for both adults and children allow for lots of indoor activities after a day at the beach or for lazy times or rainy spells.
The newly remodeled, fully equipped gourmet kitchen will satisfy any serious chefs. There is also a barbecue and hibachi. All beach supplies - mats, chairs, towels are supplied.
Extensive remodeling and upgrading have created a beautiful place to have your dream Hawaiian vacation. Wonderful for family reunions, wedding parties, family anniversary and birthday celebrations. Everyone will love the setting, the location, being able to walk to the beach and walk into town (teenagers love being able to take off on their own and not have to depend on the adults for transportation). We have been told many times by our guests that it feels like home, not like a vacation rental. | The beaches of Kauai's north shore are some of the most beautiful in the world. National Geographic has named Hanalei Bay as one of the top two beaches in the country. A short drive from Hanalei are two of the best beaches for snorkeling and diving. You can also surf, windsurf, and go kayaking on either the Hanalei River or the ocean. World-class golf at the Prince and Makai courses are 10 minutes away in Princeville. Hiking the Na Pali and horseback riding are also very close by, as are the restaurants, shops and galleries of Hanalei town and Princeville Center. Boat trips up the Na Pali coast, fishing, and scenic drives are other actiivites you can enjoy. |
| Security and cleaning deposit of $500-$800, depending on how much of the house is rented. This will hold your reservation. Cleaning fee will be deducted from this amount and the balance refunded to you after your stay. |
| Cancellations or Refunds: |

Cancellations more than 60 days in advance will receive a refund of the deposit minus $150, which is applicable to any future rental.
Cancellations of 30-60 days will receive a refund of the rental fee at the owner's discretion, depending on the circumstances.
Cancellations of less than 30 days will receive a refund if the house can be rented to someone else. Every effort will be made to re-rent it, as we have no interest in keeping people's money for services not rendered. |
There is no smoking anywhere on the property except in the driveway.
Check-in time is 3PM. Check out time is 10AM in order to allow our housekeepers to prepare for the next guests. If no one is coming in the same day you leave, an extended check-out time is possible. |
Rates are determined by how much of the house you rent and the season.
High season (Spring break and Summer) only the entire house may be rented at $3800 per week, Saturday to Saturday. Extra days will be prorated, and arrival on other days can be negotiated. Christmas/New Years must be a 2-week rental at $8800 for the 2 weeks, or Christmas week alone for $4500. We will rent New Years week for $3800 only after Christmas week is rented.
Rates for the rest of the year are lower, varied, and we offer substantial discounts for low season times and last-minute bookings. We also offer a 5% discount for Sat to Sat bookings at these times of year. Please inquire for details. |
