Point Village is the only upscale condo development in Negril. It is surrounded on three sides by water, and is on one end of the famous 7-mile beach. Point Village provides two beaches, a large pool, rock pools for soaking in the sunshine, volleyball on the beach, a beachfront bar/restaurant, a larger restaurant near the pool, snorkeling, kayaking, jetskis, scuba diving, all on-site.
Our unit was gutted two years ago and rebuilt from the floors up. The appliances and all furnishings are brand new. Our kitchen counters and cabinets were custom made out of native cedar. Our dining room set was custom made out of native cedar and mahogany. We hired a local carver, Mr. Crooksie, to carve the mahogany woodwork in the foyer, and the bannisters running upstairs.
The view off the upstairs balcony is the best on the 7-mile beach; you can see the entire beach as it curves away towards the West End cliffs area. Our unit is located on one corner of the property, and is 70 feet from the beach, very quiet, very peaceful, and has its own satellite dish with over 150 channels.
Both bedrooms have their own air conditioners, ceiling fans, and the master bedroom has a full bath. The other full bath is in the hallway upstairs.
The artwork on the walls was all purchased from local artists, and the manager of Point Village told me that we created the nicest unit in the entire complex of 260.
You can relax and do nothing, sitting on one of our two porches, or go to any of the restaurants along the 7-mile beach, where the food is cheap and fantastic. Food in Negril costs about one third of comparable meals in America. Lunch is under $10 for the freshest fish and meats, and dinners are generally under $20 for exquisite meals in fabulous restaurants on the ocean.
All-inclusive is available at Point Village for U.S. $60/person/day.
