A private island paradise with accommodations, a marina, and a world class white sand beach in an area famous for its natural beauty. Compass Cay is one of the 400 islands that make up the Exuma archipelago, 200 miles from Miami and 75 miles southeast of Nassau.
Compass is a two mile long natural paradise of 450 acres. The shallow creek meandering up the center of the island is a perfect spot for bonefishing. There are at least fifteen beaches the most spectacular being a 1/2 mile crescent of dazzling white sand three minutes walk from the rental house.
You can walk the many scenic trails on the island or explore the beaches on the surrounding islands. For instance, the Exuma Land and Sea Park; a 35 mile long nature sanctuary begins just one mile to the north.
The Lodge is one of a few houses on this spectacular 450 acre island, and is set in its own private gardens on a high ridge giving 360 degree water views. Private paths lead from the large veranda on the East side of the Lodge to the crescent beach. From the sixty foot porch on the West side of the Lodge you will delight in the constantly changing colors of the waters of the Pipe Creek area. Your private stone path winds down through the woods to the marina and harbor area.
The Lodge is airy and spacious with a 30\' x 25\' open central living and dining area, featuring spectacular views from the numerous screened doors and windows. The three bedroom, one bath Lodge sleeps six with a double bed in one bedroom and two single beds in each of the other two bedrooms. The bedrooms are air conditioned and also have ceiling fans. All linens are supplied. All floors are tiled, and the kitchen is fully equipped with everything except your food and beverages. Your own propane barbeque is located outside, on the porch.
The Treehouse is set on the top of a hill overlooking Bonefish Creek to the East and the deep blue waters of the Exuma Sound to the west, and is about a five minute walk from the Lodge and marina. It has a wrap around deck with uninterrupted views of the ocean and palm trees. The two apartments are located on the first floor. The owner lives on the second floor.
Each two bedroom apartment accommodates four with double beds in each bedroom. The bedrooms are air conditioned and also have ceiling fans. There are sleep/sofas in the living room for use by children. All linens are supplied. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything except your food and beverages. Your own propane barbeque is located outside on the porch.

Things to do around Compass Cay
In addition to the many activities the island has to offer, here are some things to do on and around the surrounding islands:
• Go deep sea fishing with local guides.
• Fish on the Banks in your own boat, available from Compass Cay with lodging or with a guide.
• Spearfish using a Hawaiian sling.
• Bonefish the many flats in the Pipe Creek area.
• Picnic, explore and shell on the many deserted beaches on the surrounding islands.
• Dive the numerous reefs in the Pipe Creek area.
• Snorkel the caves at Rocky Dundas and the famous Thunderball Grotto, featured in the James Bond movie.
• Visit the Exumas Land and Sea Park Headquarters at Warderick Wells.
• Explore the deserted islands and beaches within the Park, still so pristine and beautiful because it is a “no take zone” both from land and from the sea. Remember, “take only pictures and leave only footprints”.
• Snorkel or dive the many marked coral formations within the Exuma Land and Sea Park. Since the Park is a no take zone, trophy fish abound for your visual pleasure.
• Take the Whaler about five miles south to Sampson Cay for lunch, groceries, fuel, or ice cream.
• Visit the village at Staniel Cay, about twelve miles south. There is a bar, a restaurant, several shops and grocery stores, a medical clinic, and a church on this island of about eighty Bahamians and about one hundred vacation home owners. Staniel Cay has the closest public landing strip.
• Finally, feed Emily, the swimming pig on the beach at Big Major’s Spot
