The Guest House at River Estate is an exceptionally private and casually elegant vacation rental on Kauai's spectacular North Shore located within River Estate which is a gated riverfront botanical garden between Hanalei and the northwest end of the road a block upriver from Wainiha Beach. River Estate is a well established vacation property centrally located in the most magical part of Kauai, the North Shore area. You know what they say...Location, Location, Location. In fact it's uniqueness is so special that River Estate was included in the February 2006 issue of National Geographic Magazine's as it's recommendation for where to stay on Kauai on it's map of the Hawaiian islands in which it described specific places and activities for travelers on each island as well as being listed in Fodor's and Lonely Planet Guides. We're very proud of that. Sure there are plenty of Kauai vacation rentals that offer privacy but none offer that privacy in such a centrally located position on the north shore of Kauai so close to the beach. The magical location of River Estate is steeped in spiritual energy and the pristine natural environment produces a feeling of true relaxation and peace to all that visit here. The two most popular types of vacation rentals on Kauai are beachfront and tropical jungle types. The Guest House at River Estate offers a tropical paradise experience in which nature combines so elegantly with the spiritual world that you will be left speechless. The Guest House at River Estate offers ultra privacy in a completely pristine natural botanical garden setting thats so close to the beach you can float down the river and back from the property.
The two most important aspects of our property are the spiritual energy that abounds here and the absolute privacy you'll enjoy here. Kauai is a very unique place in the scheme of things spiritually and geographically and River Estate is located in one of the most intensely spiritual areas of the island and state. You will feel so at ease and in harmony with nature that you'll want to stay and enjoy the experience for as long as you can. You will feel like the world you left behind on your vacation is a thing of the past and you'll discover that there are indeed places where you can literally forget everything and just be yourselves again. As the sounds of the river enters your consciousness you'll gradually realize that you are in one of the most special spots on the planet.
We're located in one of the last truly unspoiled areas in all of Hawaii in which there has been and will not be any resort development. You'll enjoy complete privacy in one of the most uniquely situated spots on the island yet just outside the property are the beaches and activities North Kauai is noted for. Our tropical botanical gardens provide a truly magnificent setting in which you can totally unwind and relax with exotic flowers, fruit trees and exotic specimens of Hawaiian fauna. As you enter the gates a whole new world will open up in front of you. This is a magical paradise where you can detach from it all and relax in comfort and privacy yet be near all the attractions and activities the north shore of Kauai is noted for. CANCELLATION notice must be received no less than 30 days before check in (60 days before Christmas) to receive a full refund minus a processing fee (Transaction fees if paid by credit card, $50 if paid by other means). For cancellations within 30 days of arrival you can get a full refund minus transaction fee if dates can be re-booked. If your dates can't
be re-booked you will be credited for a future stay. |
Our Rates & Reservations
Rates
Our base rate for the Guest House is $275 a night for two people. For each additional guest there is a $25 per person per night charge added to the base rate. Please add 11.416% tax and an out cleaning fee of $150. Deposit is half the total upon booking and there is a $350 security deposit which is refunded after you leave minus any damages.

Minimum Stay
Our Minimum Stay...is five nights. We will, however, accept guests for 5 or less nights in certain instances. If your dates fit tightly into our existing calendar we'll try to fit you in. We'll always look to see what we can do to make it happen for you if at all possible.
Cancellation
Cancellation notice must be received no less than 60 days before check in (90 days before Christmas) to receive a full refund minus a processing fee of 10%. For cancellations within 30 days of arrival refund minus transaction fee will be issued if your dates can be rebooked. If your dates can't be rebooked we'll credit you for a future stay.
Reservation Deposit
A reservation deposit totaling one half the cost of your stay is required to insure the reservation. Deposit must be received within one week of verbal or e-mailed confirmation to hold dates if not paid by credit card. Balance is due 60 days prior to your arrival date.

I just wanted to drop you a note and thank you again for the great time we had. After traveling around a bit, I have discovered there are just three kinds of places you can stay.
The first kind is the kind is the one you remember you'll never stay at again, the horrible experience that becomes almost mythic over the years, as you tell and retell horror stories about the price you paid or the people who were having a limbo contest in the next room until 3 a.m.
The next is the kind that you never remember. A faceless, generic and bland outpost that serves as adequate but certainly not memorable lodging.
The third is the kind that yours is: Unique, providing a singular experience you can be sure you'll never find anywhere else. Your place has a personality all its own. It was such a pleasure each morning to wake up and look out of our window, listening to the birds and watching the sun come up over the hills.
