| This large beachfront one bedroom is literally 30 steps to the beach. It sleeps four to six comfortably with a Deluxe King bed in the Master Bedroom, a full sleeper couch in the livingroom, futons and an extra king size air mattress with pump and extra linens. The unit is stocked with snorkeling equipment, Boogie boards, movie video library and even books. The kitchen has a new refrigerator with ice maker, stove/oven, pots, pans, dishes, silverware, toaster oven, rice cooker, Panasonic microwave, coffee maker with bean grinder...all top of the line equipment. The rest of the unit has 2 color TVs, 2 VCRs. CD/Tape Stereo, Pentium II computer with internet(aol), Kenmore wash/dry, PlayStation w/games, remote phone, digital answering machine, smoke alarm and a clock/radio/CD player in the bedroom. Part of the time you will have the beach completely to yourself! There is a reef that blocks the waves and make the ocean calm for snorkeling and swimming. If you go to mapquest.com you will see that the area(Hauula) is on the opposite side of the island from the airport and Waikiki...about a 45-60 minute drive. It is also about 10 minutes to the Polynesian Cultural Center and a bit farther to Sunset Beach. The city bus picks up directly in front of the unit. There is a Foodland Supermarket ten minutes away and many convenience stores close by. The building is eight stories high and this is the best unit on the ground floor corner on the walkway to the ocean. The building has a professional Bar-b-que area with ocean view, swimming pool and sunning area. The parking is included and located in front of the unit. I supply tons of referrals. |

A quiet hideaway from the the bustling west side of the island. cool breezes and sandy beaches where you can actually be the only one there at times. the peacefulness of it all was what we were looking for, and found. 04/05/05 Positive We were very impressed with the quiet beach and the long stretch of sand for walking every morning. What a difference from Waikiki! we did drive into Honolulu for a day and enjoyed hiking Diamond Head and shopping in the International Market, but were less than impressed with the crowds at Waikiki. It was difficult to find a spot to place our towels! We generally liked the northern end of Oahu which was very scenic and different from our Midwest.
Walt and I felt right at home in the condo. I zeroed in on the chocolate covered macadamian nuts and delicious Haagan Dazs (sp?!) ice cream. A real treat!! Walt's favorite perk was the frosted mugs - he had a beer or two every night on the porch. We both used the internet service several times during the week. It's too bad we didn't have more time for then we could have snorkeled or watched some of the videos. A week isn't enough in Oahu - we are already planning a return visit in the next couple of years. Hopefully, we can stay in the same condo on our next trip.

02/12/05 Positive The condo was everything we'd hoped for and more. The swimming pool really was outside our door. The ocean really was 20 feet past the pool. The little convenience store was directly across from our unit. The grandchildren had a whale of a time with all the water toys. The unit was clean and we appreciated the coffee, tea, sugar, etc. that we found in the cupboard. Mr. Chen was a great help to us with all the problems that arose from our end. (Including an extra grandchild coming with us at the last minute.) The movies were great on the day it rained. The beach was superb! Even the gecko our youngest (8) found co-operated and let her have a really good look at him/her. The only complaint ......5 grandchildren and only 1 computer!!! All of them wanted to be on the internet every evening telling family and friends how great Hawaii is, and everything we did that day. Would we stay at Sandy Shores again? In a heartbeat!!

01/25/05 Positive We were a real test of our host's hospitality, arriving
as we did at 2am after a long journey from
Australia and calling for assistance. However,
Emanuel couldn't have been nicer, promptly and
cheerfully returning our call with very helpful
information. The unit was immaculately clean and
stocked with goodies. The proximity to the beach
was amazing and the outlook sensationally
beautiful. We had a great time and only wish we
had had more time to enjoy it.
