As an alternative lodging to the mega resorts, homeowners, Bruce & Melanie offer their peaceful, quiet country estate. Located on 3 acres in Kohala Estates (only our PO box is located in Waimea/Kamuela) on the beautiful Gold Coast of West Hawaii, playground of ancient Hawaiian royalty. The Hawaiian translation of Ho'onanea means to pass the time in peace, ease & pleasure, to relax. Guests, both kama'aina (local) & visitors alike can experience the tranquility of this healing retreat. Lokahi means to make peace & unity with the body, the mind, the earth and with all human beings.
We are between 10 and 25 minutes from most all the resorts on the Kohala Coast, and their very fine beaches. We are just north of Kawaihae, 25 minutes from both Hawi and Waimea (Kamuela); 45 minutes north of the Kona Keahole Airport and one hour from Kailua-Kona.
Our Bed & Breakfast accommodations offer separate suites with panoramic ocean view overlooking the Kohala Coast, decorated with local art & casual comfort in mind. Enjoy breathtaking sunsets from your own lanai. The moonlight over the ocean frames a romantic postcard. Our weather is usually hot & sunny.

Our detached Tranquility Suite has a king bed, daybed with trundle, private bath, kitchenette and your own lanai with ocean view. Amenities include TV, VCR, book library, microwave, coffee maker, toaster oven and refrigerator.

Our detached Garden Suite has a queen bed, queen futon, private bath, kitchenette and shares a lanai with your hosts. Amenities include TV, VCR, book library, microwave, coffee maker, toaster and refrigerator.

Kohala has both remote country charm and world class resorts with fine dining & unique shops. We are surrounded in historical significance & natural treasures. The internationally famous Hapuna Beach is only 15 minutes south.
We are between 10 and 25 minutes from most all the resorts on the Kohala Coast, and their very fine beaches with all the swimming, snorkeling and sunning you could want. We are just north of Kawaihae where you can visit Pu'ukohola Heiau; 25 minutes from both Hawi with its quaint shops & galleries and Waimea (Kamuela) home of Parker Ranch; 45 minutes north of the Kona Keahole Airport (KOA) and one hour from Kailua-Kona and its famous coffee plantations. We are just under two hours from Hilo, home of the annual Merry Monarch Hula Competition and the best farmwers market on the island; Volcanoes National Park is about 2.5 hours away. |

| We will happily refund your deposit, less a $25 booking fee, for cancellations made 30 days prior to arrival date. Early check-out is considered a cancellation. |
