We are just a few minutes from the Hawaii Volcanoes National Park in Volcano Village where you can find several good restaurants and small shops. Moderate prices, plus plenty of food, comfortable beds, and hospitality make this older plantation house a splendid choice for travelers around the world. Located in a mountain rainforest, soft misty nights and gentle rains encourage cool nights and lush forests. No need for air conditioners here! Instead, there is a large, gas fireplace in the center of the living room, fluffy down blankets, and warm robes to make your stay an inviting and memorable one. The house can be rented by the room, by the suite, or by the entire house. Whatever you you, you can feel confidient that your surroundings will be clean and well cared for.
As for the location: the property is located on a private road between the Volcano Store and the Post Office. We have it gated and fenced to help ensure privacy and security. Step outdoors and you will find a lush yard full of tall native trees, ferns, and plentiful birds.
About a mile away is the Hawaii Volcanoes National Park Visitor Center. There you can ask specific questions about what you want to see in the amount of time you have. They have a brochure for everybody with a map of the Park. You might want to see the free volcano movies and get the latest updates on the lava flow. (We have extyra flashlights and ponchos -just ask.)
We recommend a minimum of at least 2 days here due to the distances from Hilo and Kona, plus all the sites to see in the Park. |
Enjoy the fireplace inside, or the bubbling hot Jacuzzi outside. (That is incredible beneath the Hawaiian skies.) There's lots of room and space to roam about with over 1.3 acres lawn, trees and wildlife.
