Bald Head Island is located off the southeastern coast of North Carolina and is accessible only by boat or passenger ferry.
The 2,000-acre island resort features 14 miles of beaches, an 800-acre maritime forest, freshwater lagoons, salt marsh creeks and an 18-hole championship golf course. There are no cars on the island and travel is by golf cart, bike or on foot. Built in 1817, the state's oldest lighthouse is located on the island.
