Couples find a cozy room near misty Tomales Bay a romantic atmosphere. For active individuals and families, Tomales Bay is excellent for kayaking, fishing, boating, and bird watching.
The Bay is also famous for its succulent oysters. And, of course, Point Reyes is one of the most spectacular places on the California coast for sightseeing.
The Point Reyes Lighthouse guards one of the most treacherous outcroppings on the Pacific. The craggy beauty of its setting is well worth the three hundred steps required to get there.
Mount Vision Overlook, accessible by car, offers sweeping vistas of the point and lagoons. |

I recently had the opportunity to stay at the Inverness Valley Inn. Not feeling well and craving rest, I was blessed with a comfortable room. After a chat with Bruce, the innkeeper, I soaked my soar feet in the pool and watched the ospreys soar overhead. What an incredibily gorgeous location. I was in heaven.
The room is fully equipped with mini kitchen, including utensils and cookware, toaster, microwave, "fridge" etc. All the comforts of home were at my beck and call. Barbeque, table and chairs are on the patio,
My only dissapointment was in having to leave too soon. Steve and Bruce are friendly and gracious and they keep the rooms and acres of greenery immaculate. An extra treat were the rhodies in full bloom. I highly recommend it to anyone coming to visit or expecting family or friends.
It is a slice of heaven; the location is incredible and well worth a visit.

Point Reyes Light, May 2003
We recently took a ride up the coast and visited the Point Reyes Lighthouse. After hiking all those stairs we were exhausted and just wanted a place to relax. At the foot of the hill, we found the Inverness Valley Inn.
Our cabin had a very comfortable bed, a kitchenette with microwave, a fire place and even a barbecue. Outside were a swimming pool, a hot tub and two tennis courts.
We intended to stay just 3 days but when we learned that the fourth night was free, we stayed to visit fishing villages and small towns on the coast. Several great restaurants are located nearby.
Prices are $115 anight plus tax Sunday through Thursday. Friday and Saturday are $130.
